Why Does The KidsKnowIt Network Allow Advertisements?
The answer is very simple. It is the only way to accomplish our mission of providing free access to innovative educational resources to children around the globe.

Every month, our tools are accessed by literally several million students around the world. Supporting these traffic levels is expensive, and requires the maintenance of servers, routers, bandwidth, and a small staff.

In order to continue developing additional games, and activities, and continue writing articles, and edit them for accuracy, there simply has to be a source of revenues. One possible solution would be to charge users for access to the network. Doing this would provide a steady flow of financial resources. However, it is fundamentally in opposition to our mission of providing the resources for free.

Many could afford a small annual fee, but there are many who cannot. Generally speaking, the ones who can't afford it, are the ones who need it the most. Thus charging users would effectively cut out the children who we are most anxious to reach.

What Type of Ads Do We Display?
The only types of advertisements that the KidsKnowIt Network will allow are those which are non-intrusive. We will never allow pop-ups, pop-unders, or javascript roaming ads.

Can I Turn Advertisements Off?
Yes. Under each advertisement is a link to turn them off. Turning advertisements off requires a very small fee of $30 per year. We believe that this gives our users the best of both worlds. For those who would not like to see advertisements, for less than $3.00 per month, your child can have complete access to all our sites, completely advertisement free. For those who cannot afford this fee, your child can still have full access to all our sites, activities, articles, and games without cost.
